Becoming a Client
From your first conversation to a funded account and the relationship that follows — here is how we measure success, what it costs, and what you can expect along the way.
Allocating for Alpha
We measure our success by one thing: the return we earn for you, net of fees, above and beyond what you could reasonably earn on your own with easily accessible products. That extra return is known as Alpha, and producing it — whatever mix of products it takes to meet your goals — is what we are constantly allocating for.
Alpha takes several forms. Sometimes it is the obvious one: earn more. Sometimes it is losing less when markets fall. Sometimes it is reaching your goals sooner, or with a larger balance than expected — and sometimes it is simply sleeping better, knowing your account has carried less volatility than the market. It is the heart of our investment philosophy.
A Simple Fee Structure
Worthington Wealth Management provides a simple fee structure including:
- No Transaction Fees, Markups, or Commissions. WWM is charged those fees and we choose to not pass them on to clients.
- No extra costs – no hidden or unexpected fees
- A simple fixed percentage of assets under management
Advisory Discretionary Models
| Designation / Model | Annual Fee |
|---|---|
| DIESQ | 1.50% |
| Macch-V | 1.50% |
| Equity Managed Portfolios | 0.50% |
| Managed Municipal Products Portfolios | 1.50% |
| Discretionary Non-Model | 1.50% |
Accounts holding a blend of models, or a blend of model and non-model discretionary securities, are billed based on the prorated market value allocated to each component, resulting in a blended advisory fee.
Fees are charged quarterly, in advance, based on the market value of account assets as of the close of business on the last business day of the immediately preceding calendar quarter.
Model Allocation and Fee Adjustments
WWM will not change the model selection or allocation within a Client’s account without prior authorization from the Client. Where a model change results in a change to the applicable advisory fee or blended advisory fee, WWM will provide the Client with an updated Fee Schedule reflecting the new fee structure. The updated Fee Schedule will serve as written confirmation of the model change and any associated fee adjustment, and the revised fee will become effective as of the date the model change is implemented.
Non-Discretionary Accounts
| Designation / Model | Annual Fee |
|---|---|
| Client Directed – Advisory (Non-Discretionary) | 0.50% |
| Client-Directed – Execution Only | 0.25% |
| HOLD | 0% |
Custodian Transaction Costs
WWM does not generally pass through custodial transaction costs to clients. However, if securities transferred into a new account must be liquidated in order to implement the recommended portfolio allocation, custodial transaction costs may be passed through without markup for up to 12 months following account opening. After this period, such costs will be borne by WWM.
What to Expect as a New Client
Like most new relationships, there’s a lot of excitement and activity early on but then things calm down to an expected pace. Our first few discussions will be geared more towards our deciding whether or not we are a good fit and will dance well together. The process of our talks will include gathering critical information in order to understand our direction and the investment tools we’ll use to build out and execute your plan. Once we’ve decided to proceed, the Concierge Admin (CA) team will take the ball and walk you through the account-opening and funding process. The CA team will build your account record and add to the notes from our first discussions to your profile; you’ll be in close contact with your CA throughout the entire process.
After your account is funded and your investment plan is beginning to take shape, our communication with you ramps up to the speed and amount we determined in our initial meetings. We help you get used to our reporting process and timeline, and we’ll introduce you to our customized reporting platform via desktop or mobile app.
Once settled in to our routine, you’ll join a relatively small group of clients under our care. The phones always ring on our end and you will always have access to understanding your investment accounts and how they are managed.
Ready to see if we’re a good fit?
It starts with a conversation. Let’s talk about where you are and where you want to go.
